CURRICULUM.
As the School is registered to accept Government funding for 3 to 5 year olds. Our curriculum and ethos follows the Governments criteria for nursery education.
Our curriculum and means of progression follows the Governments early Learning Goals. These follow two categories.
Those pupils under the age of three aspire to a curriculum governed by four areas of learning.
- A Skilful Communicator.
- A Competent Learner.
- A Healthy Child.
- A Strong Child.
Those pupils from three to five years of age, aspire to the Governments 6 Early Learning Goals. They are as follows:
- Communication Language and Literacy.
- Problem Solving, Reasoning and Numeracy.
- Knowledge and Understanding of the World.
- Creative Development.
- Physical Development.
- Personal, Social and Emotional Development.
All of our pupils’ attainment is recorded.
At the end of every term each pupil receives a progress report. Plus a large folder full of their terms school work.
When pupils reach reception class age, 4 to 5 years, their attainment is recorded on a document known as a Child Profile. When the child completes its time in the reception class, the profile is forwarded to our year one teacher or to the child’s next school. This system ensures the achievements of each pupil are documented and used beneficially at their new school.
